I believe the project is debveloping live over the next few weeks and there will be links to different sites

The Student Street Photography Awards

As some of you’ll remember, the Vision Conference organised by the BJP, involved a screening of the film `Stand your ground’, which explores the perils and rights of the street photographer. The ‘Stand Your Ground’ Film Hyperlink below is worth watching :

Also there is a competition coming up - `The Student Street Photography Awards’ open to all students aged 18 and over, living in the UK and studying on any full or part time course at a UK institution, which you should aim to enter in conjunction with the Mark Power Project.
The London Street Photography Festival defines Street Photography as:
“candid, un-staged photography which captures, explores or questions contemporary society and the relationships between individuals and their surroundings.”
This is part of the London Street Photography Festival, which is looking for the best new street photography talent in the UK, through images taken anywhere in the world in the past five years through a submission of 5 - 8 photographs . An overall winner will be awarded a special £1,000 grant to help further their photographic career.

Mark Power Update
Hi all
Just a reminder – CAN EVERYONE DO YOUR BEST TO BE HERE ON THURS 19th JANUARY at 4.45pm for the MARK POWER presentation and launch of the new brief. Meet in ‘The Venue’ C106 not the photography area. Mark will be travelling from Brighton University to personally launch the brief so please make every effort to be here that evening. We look forward to working with you on this exciting and prestigious assignment. Martin Parr’s preview of the next stage of his Black Country Stories is taking place at the New Art Galley shortly afterwards that same evening and everyone is welcome.
