Ah the nikon 1. I have to say before i start im supremely biased. Firstly im a nikon man so id lean towards this instead of a epl1 or a gf2. I also like its style compared to sonys nex 5 for example. My only gripe is that i used to work with the buying department at jessops and i know what the mark up is on these cameras and thats what gets to me really because they make more profit on these cameras than any other camera they sell. They make so much money on these that for example, each time a jessops employee sells a csc on a weekend the employee gets £15 and coming from a company that is owned by hsbc because its in £3 million of debt shows you something. Where as ive seen jessops lose money selling dslr's. If you take price and money out of it, these are cracking little cameras. Nice and light because of no mirror box but they still have a nice big sensor. Bring price into it and im confused. The lens' are 3 times the price of Digital SLR lens' and the camera is as much as or more than a entry level dslr. Not only this but your choice in lens' are massively reduced compared to dslr. So when i see something thats more expensive, with less choice in lens' and no view finder with mirror box it puts me down. But i would say that this is the best csc and compared to compacts these cameras are lightyears ahead. I suppose then it comes down to on what level or criteria your judging the camera.
