Manhattenhenge

This is something that I have always been interested in as it only happens for 2 days every year. It's called "Manhattenhenge" and it is where the setting sun aligns with the east - west streets of the main street grid in New York City.
This particular image was captured by Steve Kelly over Tudor City bridge on 42nd street. I love this image because it so rare and difficult to capture and it proves if you have the time and patience you can capture something that is really majestic to look at.

  1. Dannielle,
You described this in class but to actually see it is something else. Absolutely awesome. I know the principle of it occuring due to architecture and celestrial allighnment is what makes it but is this something that you could replicate in walsall? The star burst, saturation and vignette is something i can show you how to apply in post production. Just a thought.
